My Little Tripod
March 14, 2010

I have suffered many times in my efforts to take food photos at restaurants because I am such an amature photographer and the conditions are rarely ideal. Generally, when the food comes I want to take photos as fast as possible so that my companions don't feel awkward - and so we can start eating. As a result, the photos often come out too fuzzy because I can't keep still long enough. I have learned the best way to hold the camera but even then I often give up to early.

So when I was at an electronics department store in Japan, I was thrilled to find this tiny, mini-tripod called a keypod that I can carry in my pocket as a key chain. I have not seen anything like this anywhere else. It is perfect. This tiny 3-inch long tripod (with 1-1/2 inch extention) has no problem holding my Canon PowerShot and it stablizes the camera so that I can take photos in a flash, even in a dark restaurant. Better photos and faster eating.
