bolognese Bolognese for Dogs

Yield : 2 cups

Ingredients

1/2 lb lean ground beef
1/3 cup diced carrots
1/3 cup diced celery
1/3 cup diced red bell pepper
1/3 cup chopped cooked spinach
1 tbsp tomato paste

Pasta of your choice ..... cook softer than usual and cut into small pieces if you use long pasta.

omega 3 oil ..... optional

Method

1. Heat nonstick pan in medium heat and cook ground beef until no longer pink.

2. Add all vegetables and cook until soft for 3 minutes.

3. Add tomato paste and mix well until they are incorporated. Remove from heat and cool.

4. In a serving bowl, place cooked pasta of your choice and top with bolognese sauce.

5. Drizzle some omega 3 oil (optional).

Note

*The ratio of the meat, vegetables and starch depends on the dog's needs but the basic rule is 40% meat, 30% vegetables and 30% starch.

Also, you should use at least three different vegetables. It is also a good idea to add a supplement like brewer's yeast or kelp depending on your dog's needs.

I often combine a little dry dog food with my homemade batch so as not to shock my dog. Please consult your vet before you introduce homemade dog food for the first time.
