ARIAKÉ Bouillon de Vilaille by Joel Robuchon
October 29, 2014

I received this chicken bouillon from my friend as a souvenir from Europe. It is an individually packed sachet with dried chicken bouillon inside. When you need chicken broth, you drop this in boiling water.

This type of stock is very popular in Japan for fish based dashi. I always bring back tons of dried fish packets whenever I go back to Japan. But I have never seen chicken bouillon in this form.

This is really handy when I don't have time to make my own chicken broth. This bouillon does not taste like the cube stuff at all. It tastes more like liquid chicken broth you can purchase at the store but it is little more salty. And most importantly, it is made from 100% natural ingredients according to the package.

I attempted to find a way to purchase this in the US. Unfortunately, it is not available in the US at this moment based on the customer support person at ARIAKÉ. So when you go to Europe next time, make sure to bring some home.

I still chose an organic chicken broth in a paper carton over this bouillon, but it is definitely a great backup to have in your pantry.
