Hilo Farmer's Market

We arrived in Hilo very early on Wednesday morning and it was perfect timing to visit Hilo's farmer's market downtown. Like many, I always visit farmer's markets when I travel. It is the best place to understand the local food and culture.

Warabi (fiddlestick ferns) on left and unknown green (looks like potato green?)

There were many Vietnamese food vendors at the market.
But she was so lovely and sweet so we got some of her spring rolls for a quick breakfast.

Lon Gon

Longon fruit. Peal the outer thick skin and the sweet lychee-like fruit appears.

coconut water vender

Fresh coconut juice!
