I don't know why I waited this long to visit Narcissa but finally I did and I loved it. It was on the first nice warm evening of the season on a Friday and everybody wanted to sit outside - and so did we. Unfortunately, most of the outdoor seating can't be reserved so I was just hoping to find anyplace open. When we went to Narcissa, the outdoor area was already filled up but they said we could sit at the chef's counter instead. I would never turn down the chef's table (counter) and my husband and I enjoyed it very much. Narcissa has been on my to go list of course but the list is very long and getting bigger each day even though we try so many places.

The cucumber ribbon (salad) was refreshing and just what I needed. For main course, carrots Wellington sounded very interesting. A vegetarian main course tends to be boring but Narcissa did a wonderful job of creating a very creative and tasty dish. I only wish they could have put different kinds of veggies in each slice (I know I am asking too much and it is not even realistic considering the production but I got a little tired of carrots at the end).

While we were dining, we saw so many dishes being created and sent to the dining room. The rotisserie-crisped beets looked interesting and the whole branzino looked perfectly cooked and really tasty.

I wish all the desserts in the photo above were mine. I was lucky to get the chance to take a photo while they were finishing up their dessert order for someone else right next to me. The citrus tart for two looked so pretty and I would definitely get one next time.

Narcissa is a large restaurant and you may have a good chance to be able to sit somewhere even though you don't have a reservation. I have heard that the bar area offers one of the best burgers in the city.

I am looking forward to going back soon.
